Class Descriptions
[9:00 - 10:15 am] Wrap Bracelet: Learn to create a beaded wrap bracelet using leather cord, beading cord & beads. The completed bracelet will be a three wrap. $25 fee includes all materials. Bring scissors.
[9:00 - 10:15 am] Bookbinding with Weaving Samples: Use weaving samples to cover a small booklet. $5 fee, bring 8”x10” or larger closely woven fabric, some will be available.
[10:30 - 11:45 am] Beginning Tapestry Weaving: Learn how to warp and weave on a small frame loom. This is an excellent way to use scrap yarn. $10 fee.
[10:30 - 11:45 am] Needle -felted Pumpkin: Learn the basics of needle felting while sculpting a pumpkin. $10 fee.
[9:00 - 11:45 am] Viking Knitting: Learn how to start a Viking Knit chain using a dowel & wire to make a bracelet with a magnetic clasp. $7, bring light weight work gloves.
[9:00 - 11:45 am] Simply Spiral: Learn a simple spiral bead weaving stitch and apply that technique to the creation of a bracelet. $15 fee.
[2:00 - 3:15 pm] Color – Decisions, Decisions: Become aware of the characteristics of color and find ways to choose a color scheme. Discover what weaving structure has to do with color appearance, near and far. $5 fee. Bring photos with colors you like or yarn samples you are considering and discuss how to put them together for a project.
[2:00 - 3:15 pm] Sashiko: A presentation on the history & development of Sashiko stitching in Japan, including samples, designs, traditional patterns and resources. A demonstration of marking techniques and traditional stitching techniques will be presented. $5 fee.
[3:30 - 5:00 pm] Mayan Spinning: Learn to spin on a Mayan Spindle like the ancient Mayans. $40 fee includes a Mayan spindle and fiber. Basic knowledge of spinning required.
[3:30 - 5:00 pm] Woven Tapestry Bracelet: Complete a tapestry woven bracelet on a beading loom. $25 fee to include a beading loom, tapestry needle and various yarns. Bring scissors.
[2:00 - 5:00 pm] Hand Dye a Gradient Warp: Dye a prewound Tencel warp, transitioning gradually from one color to another, or using one color and transitioning from high intensity to low saturation, which can then be woven into a beautiful scarf. Numerous colors to choose from. $35 fee which includes all supplies, bring an apron or painting clothes since dyes are permanent.
[2:00 - 5:00 pm] Pine Needle Ornament: Learn basic pine needle basketry techniques to make a star ornament. $40 fee includes all materials.
[2:00 - 5:00 pm] Bobbin Lace Bookmark: Learn basic bobbin lace stitches while weaving a bookmark with baby spiders. $5 fee.
